The Full Spectrum

This post is going to be all about COLOR. It’s something I’m particularly drawn to when I’m taking photographs, and luckily I work at an arts center where color is rampant!

But first… I’ve been asked by several people if I’m going to share the short film I made for my class. For many reasons, sadly, the answer is no. For one, the soundtrack violates copyright laws, and the subject matter is something I’m not ready to share with the world. I bet you’re intrigued now, huh? :) I’m so happy you all are interested, and I plan to share my final film project, which will be a Super 8 film. (this one was shot on mini dv) Stay tuned, I’m usually not so uptight about sharing my work!

Also… yesterday a film crew from a local Pittsburgh news station came by my work to do a feature story on our Art Camps. Neither of the directors wanted to be on camera, so I happily offered my services. I’ve never been camera shy! The story should air sometime next week, and I’ll definitely post the video once it becomes available.

Now… onto the colors!

Sometimes the paint containers are more interesting than what’s actually being painted.

Untitled-1Remember the ice cream cones I mentioned by the kids who did the monster babies? They turned out so great!

A bright yellow post-it from a counselor definitely brightened my day. :)

I’m pretty sure the girl that wrote this to me knows nothing about Operation Beautiful, but it definitely reminded me of it!

And I keep telling myself to pay more attention to the flowers!

And lastly, because this post needs a bit of food – here’s a lovely little pastry I got from Prantl’s – one of Pittsburgh’s best bakeries.

It was some sort of cake covered with toasted almonds, icing, and cream… mmmm. Amazingly delicious.

The week has been going fast, but realizing I still have to wait until Sunday afternoon to see Joe is kind of bumming me out. I know he’s having a great time with his family, but I miss him! :( Hopefully the next couple of days will continue to fly…

Hope you all have a nice Thursday – I’ll be on the lookout for more COLOR. :)

I *really* needed this burst of color this morning, so I thank you! My drab office is really starting to get to me… sigh.

OMG is that burnt almond torte??? That is by far the most amazing thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. It’s also on the dessert menu at Shady Grove, they get it from Prantl’s, just an FYI for the next time you’re there!
